Contact the police and report the theft. Remember to get a police report. Having done so, you can file a claim and attach a list of the baggage items that were stolen. Write original price and purchase date for every item. If you have the original receipts for the stolen items, please attach them alongside the police report.
The insurance will cover damage to checked-in baggage if you have a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). You will get this in the airport. File your claim with us and send your PIR as well as a list of damaged items as well as receipts indicating purchase price and date.
If your checked-in baggage disappears for more then 3 hours during a departure, you need to retrieve a Property Irregularity Report from the airline. The insurance covers reasonable and necessary costs for critical medication, clothes and toiletry. Please make sure to keep the receipts for your purchases. If you have doubt regarding the limit of expenditure, please contact your employer.
If your checked-in baggage has disappeared and the airline confirms the disappearance, then it is the airline or the tour operator who is responsible for providing compensation.
It is important that you fill out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) in the airport when you become aware that your baggage has not shown up.
If the airline does not provide full compensation for your baggage and/or its contents, you can claim the exceeding amount up to the maximum amount stated in the insurance letter. Please note that valuable items should be carried in the hand baggage.
Baggage is the items that you have brought along on your trip. Valuables such as cash, computer, phone, jewellery and camera must always be kept in your hand baggage.
