Bringing sustainability to life across If

In September 2025, If’s employee event “Green Week” brought sustainability to life across all our Nordic offices. The week is part of our long-term commitment to our three sustainability commitments: customers, employees, and society.

“Green Week is a chance for everyone to see If’s sustainability work in action. It’s a good reminder that sustainability isn’t just about long-term goals, it’s about the choices we make every day. By combining our business expertise with employee engagement, we’re building a culture where sustainability is something we do together.

– Philip Thörn, Head of Sustainability, at If

The theme for 2025 was Sustainable Homes, focusing on how we can care for buildings in a more sustainable way: preventing damage before it happens, preparing for extreme weather, and rebuilding smarter when needed. And what kind of services and products we have in place to support this work.

Instead of spreading events across the year, Green Week brought everything together into one inspiring week full of learning and ideas. Employees joined hands-on demos, participated in quizzes, and learned from real-life case examples – and many also picked up practical tips to use at home or at their cottages.

“I really enjoyed the Anticimex demo. Especially now, when customers’ schedules are tight and finances are under pressure, it’s important to think ahead – and that’s where Anticimex’s service helps. What stood out most was how personal it felt, the inspection is really about talking with the resident. I just wish apartment dwellers could have the same opportunity. I’d invite a professional over right away!”

– Karelia Petäjäniemi, Customer Advisor, Finland

“During Green Week, it was inspiring to visit our rooftop solar panels at my home office in Vækerø. We’ve worked closely with our landlord from the start, sharing our expertise on fire and liability risks, and recommending actions for the design engineers. It was rewarding to see safety fully integrated into the design. Rooftop solar installations are becoming an increasingly important part of our insured portfolio, especially with the new EU directives, so this event was a great way to add awareness amongst all If employees.”

– Anders Rørvik Ellingbø, Head of Property Risk Services, Norway
